The DL class, like similar classes, are used for mainline / intercapital freight traffic on the standard gauge, and has also made the occasional appearance on AN's main passenger trains. They were all transferred to National Rail.

National Rail/Pacific National:
These locos are mostly in the Sydney region, with some also seeing use on interstate freight traffic. Those in NSW are DL43, 44, 45, 47, 49, and 50, and their work includes Dunmore quarry to Cook's River traffic (for Boral), and formerly Marulan limestone traffic.
