These were the first diesel locos to appear in the AIS works and
were used
for coal haulage, but now all have been withdrawn, as they have been
replaced
by more modern locos.
One interesting feature is that they were a "kit-build"; the locos were
built
in the UK, shipped to Australia, and re-assembled by Comeng (with parts
built
by the Bendigo Munitions Plant).
