The A/AA/AB classes have been used around the Westrail network,
primarily on freight services, but with the occasional passenger work.
Examples of their
use include bauxite from Jarrahdale and iron ore from Westmine. Western
Mining
Corporation funded A1513-1514 for use on the latter service.
Most of the A class and one AB class have been bought by TranzRail to
be
used in Tasmania. As well, one A class, all of the AA class, and one AB
class
have been sold to Chile.
