The H class were intially used for construction work on the standard
gauge Kalgoorlie-Perth line, and were later relegated to shunting
duties. Four of
the class have been sold to SCT
where they still do shunting work..

shunting at SCT's Mile End (Adelaide) and Kewdale (Perth) terminals.
